Saturday, which was yesterday, i fetched Princeton boy for his phonics lesson as usual. Then went home to fetch Hubby and Paris. Who knows our car's radiation got problem again. Luckily i managed to reach home in time, if not i would have stuck in the middle of somewhere.
Its OK, no fret. We quickly prepared the bags, as we wanted to bring the children for a swim. Took a taxi over to fetch our boy, then headed to The Chevrons. The children were over the moon, especially Paris. She laughed and kicked non stop. After 20mins, I bathed Paris, cleaned her up then soon she fell asleep. Too exhausted from the swim, haha. Princeton boy wanted to go bowling alley, but when we were about to leave, he insisted he wanted to play the pool table ( he is throwing tantrums, nothing about the pool table i believed). He is getting grouchy, as it was 4 pm already. Sigh..... cried all the way in the cab, saying ' I want Chevrons'.
Got home, drank milk then dozed off on the bed. When he woke up at 730pm. Zhenyu talked to him, and then scolded him about the incident. After that, the dad took out the cane, and whacked him on his backside. Very deep scar:( Princeton cried of course, and shivered in fear. We let him finished crying, then i explained to him again. After having mum's fried bee hoon, we brought the children to visit my sis and my nephew!
Princeton had enough rest, hence he was well behaved at the place all the way. We left around 11pm. I had a nice chat with sis, and was glad that her appetite was good and everything was smooth.
This morning, Princeton woke up especially early at 7am! Crazy.... i knew that was a bad start, later sure go hay wired. But still we are hoping for a miracle. Jio my best pal and Xiaolin for dim sum breakfast at The Chevrons:) The restaurant opened at 11am, therefore we went to the mini library first. The children were enjoying themselves. That place was quite entertaining, some more is FOC lol.
We ordered quite a few variety of dim sum, porridge and fried noodles. Princeton was getting cranky, i guessed it bcoz after eating, he wanted to get off his seat, and requested to see fishes. (Usually he will play the iphone after having his meal). I carried him and take a look at those lobsters and crabs. After that, he started to find fault already. Wanted to play with a pair of scissors which i used to cut the fried noodles earlier on. I refused of course. Even though i knew he would throw tantrums. He cried louder and louder. I wanted to carry him out of the place, bcoz he was disturbing others. But if he doesn't want me to carry, there is no way i could carry him up. Zhenyu was coaxing Paris to sleep outside the restaurant....
Princeton cried over the scissors and the fried noodles until zhenyu came back. The dad was very angry, and grabbed him out of the seat immediately. He reprimanded him outside the restaurant, and when we came out of the place, I saw that Tian stopped crying but when he saw me, his crying came back again. This outrageous boy is getting from bad to worse. I understand no child is perfect. He is old enough to understand even though he is tired, he cannot throw his tantrums like this. Zhenyu was so pissed off because Princeton had promised him yesterday that he will behaved today.
Whenever children cannot cooperate with us, we should keep our cool down. For me, if Tian wanted to cry, i'll let him cry all he wants. Like what i did today. After May and xiaolin left, Princeton cried at the lobby. We wait for him to finish crying loh. I won't act like a gan chiong spider and quickly bring my boy home. This will only makes him turn worse, and he never can learn. He will only learn that from parents that, the best way is to avoid. Then the child will always take advantages of such situation, whenever i cry, i can go home. BEST. The main reason that he threw tantrums is because he really woke up very early at 7, and he slept late the day before as well. My style of parenting might be different from others. For me, if you're tired, sleep in the car or pram, and our events will continue. This is a matter of used to it. So, i hope one day, Princeton will understand that it's useless for him throw tantrums when he is tired. He just gonna get used to it.
Tian cried until he gave up, said he wanted milk. After drinking, he slept soundly. We then brought Paris home, (Paris's porridge time) and brought Princeton boy to the bb shower. We put him in the pram, he continued to zzz. After an hour, he woke up, refreshed and back to normal again. He was excited to see Yanling's bb girl. I believed he really dote babies alot.
We then brought him to Jess's place for the curry pot event. Jess is the parent of Ashley (Princeton's classmates). We had a mini gathering with the kid's ex teachers as well. Stayed till 6pm, then we got to make a move. Brought Princeton back for a shower and dinner. He is playing with xin now, i hope he can turn in early later.
His dad scolded him just now, but this time Princeton apologized. Hubby was rather angry about the restaurant incident, but he told Princeton that he forgave him this time. Mainly because subsequent event, our boy was up to his expectation.
I would have brought along his favourite toy guns or even my sis's ipad! So that if he wanted to throw tantrums, i can make used of that. But i didn't. Because this will only spoilt the kids and makes them think that if i throw tantrums, mummy will coax me with my favourite things! Then that's it. Since young, i never have toys in the car, and let alone toys to entertain them when they got nothing to do.
My uncle suggested that i should cultivate Tian to read a book when he gets bored. Yes, he is right. This is the best way to keep a child occupied. I will read with my children everyday, so that they will love reading in the future. It is fundamental skill builder which improves a child concentration and focus. This is my KPI this year !
When children are sick, parents first thing in mind : CANNOT GO OUT. Is that so???? The answer is wrong. I am not asking you to bring them to shopping centre, or to sweat them under hot sun. When they are sick, the more we should bring them to the park, or somewhere with trees that we can have more fresh air. Unless we are talking about sick until cannot walk, then OK, no choice but to stay at home.
