My Lunar birthday

Yes... i am 30 this year. Friday was my lunar birthday, and my mil especially cooked longevity noodles for me:) Asians have the tradition of eating longevity noodles (aka long life noodles, or 长寿面, “Chang Shou Mian”) on our birthdays. I am blessed to have it every year (since I'm married into the Tays)

My mil believed that eating these noodles is auspicious as the long strands of noodles symbolize a long life. I appreciate her goodwill and really felt thankful to have a caring mother inlaw. My LiL Ps are blessed to have wonderful grandparents, who dotes and pampers them to the max. But I'm sure they do not spoilt them, even if they do, it's fine. Because grandparents are meant to spoilt their grandchildren! Haha. We as parents are the one who should be doing the disciplinary. For those 'weekends' parents, then i could only say, it's just too bad, you gonna risk the chance of changing roles with your parents or pil.

Tian&Xin only met yeye&nai nai once or twice a week, therefore whenever my inlaws saw them, they focus on them 100%. Feed them, play and bond with them. Quality is definitely is better than quantity. Mil prepared sumptuous porridge which she brewed for the whole morning, with 2kg of pork ribs and herbs. Just for the LiL Ps. No wonder my porridge can never win hers.... LOL. She would standy desserts and snacks like bird nest, sandwiches, apples, biscuits, fishcakes etc Princeton was like eating buffet, and of course nai nai was so delighted.

Yeye especially dote xin. Often buy new toys for her.... The whole room are full of their loots! Luckily my pil house is neat and spacious, to accommodate so many toys.

Today, i picked up tian from school at 4pm. Drove them to fetch hubby in Tuas Naval Base. We went to Soup Restaurant for our monthly family dinner (Juze4ofus) We dine almost everyday at home, but we wanted to make it a point to bring them out for good meals at least once a month.

Tmr will be meeting Uncle William, Aunt Sharon and Candice for dinner:) Thanks Uncle for celebrating our birthday every year. Sunday will be meeting sis,sze yong and my baobei Zachary!

Have a great weekend peeps!
