Princeton Performance @ Tien Xia (Term3)

Coming to Term 3 of the year. Princeton had completed his Zoo phonics Test, 'I Can Read" Test, and yesterday he got back his report card for his chinese enrichment at TienXia.

Zhenyu and i were contented and glad that Princeton had done well again for this term. Hopefully he can continue to be constant in his learning. He did mention that he wanted to learn mathematics. Recently i had been teaching him double digits addition, and he is doing well.

Princeton attention span is still very short. Haiz... must be too many dvds, games, overstimulating... Next week, he will moved on to K1 syllabus for the 3 enrichment programs.

All these to us are investments instead of expenses. At least i gave him a chance to learn. Most importantly, he appreciated it and learn well.

Princeton and Paris growing so fast.... Next week Paris will be having a mini birthday party at home. My place will be full of children and babies... heehee... This time, we will be cooking, no catering. Because there will only be 20 people plus the kids. Shall get a beautiful birthday cake for this chubby girl:)

September, a brand new month. I pray that it can be a smooth and happy month just like August. I pray that my LiL Ps and mummy can be healthy:) Hubby continous smooth sailing in his teaching... and i can settle all my assignments asap! Get ready for OCT, my final exams!!!!!!!!!!!!! CHIONG HAR>>>

The Last Journey with ah ma....

 

That's it. No more pain for ah ma anymore.. She's in heaven now. When bad thing happened, it happened everything together. The night before when grandma was weak in her breathing... Zhenyu and i quickly dashed down to NUH. Unfortunately, mum suffered from Appendicitis:(

 

My stubborn mother can bear this painful killer for one whole night! When the moment she's ready for operation, my eldest Uncle called her and said grandma had passed away:( She rejected the op, and asked to remove all needles and the nurse put her in the wheelchair and brought her over to my grandma's ward. We were there with sister and siyong... followed by the uncles and my aunt. Then... at last saw the eldest grandson.

 

I like to complain, grumble, nag, but at the end, I'll still do what i can do or what i should do. Hubby on the other hand, not as calculative as me. He don't mind to do more... He said just treat it as the last thing to do for ah ma. When ah ma is around, i did my part, that's why i never felt any guilt. Anyway, i just find it a joke, if you value DUA SOON (ELDEST GRANDSON) so much, please ask him to do the important things. I am not DUA and i am not 'SON', i am only responsible on minor things like: when ah ma needs to go hospital, need to go for check up, need to buy milk and diaper, need to go to the bank to take interest, need new bed matress, need wheel chair, need daily food, need CNY goodies, need a maid to take care for her. These type of things i am responsible:) Because i am too free, i am not working, i got a car, i got spare time, i got alot of money, i got the energy. Yes i am calculative because in this situation whereby bias is too much and i felt disgusted. So, all i can do is to nag and grumble. I'm not blaming anyone, i just felt 'imbalance' that's all. 

Hubby was very supportive.. Sometimes i just felt so proud of him. I am thankful and grateful for everything he did. These few days hard on him...

Ah ma is gone, left the maid for me to settle... Will book a ticket for her to go home... After that, don't come and bother me about any issues. I only care about my mummy and her recovery. In another words, don't come and bother my mummy too. She needs ample rest and comfort.

 

Goodbye ah ma, you shall always live in my heart.

Grandma hospitalized:(

Grandma is getting weaker and weaker... She is 93 this year, very long life ya? Her mind is still clear, still able to recognise a few people. Saturday mid night, she got very breathless and my eldest Uncle called the ambulance.

Zhenyu and i just came back from NUH. We were very heart pain to see her suffer like this:( Her right hand was so swollen by the needles, haiz.... Zhenyu massage her legs and said she is so thin... Yes indeed... thin until no blood for any blood test.

Yesterday we were at home too. Zhenyu had a great day with the LiL Ps. Bought them some new toys, and Tian loves it alot. Saturday he got back his Zoo Phonics results for Term 3. I'm very glad, my boy did well again:) Teacher feedback he could complete his test fast and confidently. Next month he will move to Zoo Phonics K1. This coming Friday will be his Chinese Test at Tien Xia. Tml shall do revision with him...

Paris birthday is coming!! Zhenyu was thinking to hold a mini party for our Princess:) Mcdonalds is out, bcoz Jurong area got no party celebration. We are looking at Jurong safra the Poolside Party room.

If not, we shall just hold it at home... Many children lor.... at least 20! I gonna clean up like mad again. Hahaha.....

My assignments and group projects are piling up. Last semester... but it's gonna be a tough one. Hope it ends fast, but on the other side, i don't hope to go back to workforce so soon. But in reality, i really need to go back real soon. This is so confusing.... Perhaps i don't need to think too much, just enjoy my life now.

May grandma suffered less pain and go home soon.

Yesterday was a long day... today decided to start my assignment but infact didn't do much. Focus more on the revision with Princeton. He had been practising his Chinese name, alphabets and simple addition.

Perhaps I'm too strict or too high expectation from him, i tend to lose my temper when i thought he should know and remembered. But also because I'm fierce, that's why he is serious in learning. He could tell simple time now, but only an analog clock. He could write his Full name Princeton Tay Rong Tian now:)

He also knows Monday to Sunday, and he knows the date,month and year. I'm trying to teach him in Chinese. We had lunch and dinner at home. Tmr shall go around to find interesting board game for him. Don't like children to engross in watching dvd, at most 20mins twice per day. 

His attention span needs to improve. In school, teacher feedback that this chatterbox kept talking stories to his friends. Whoever same group as him, will be the slowest to complete their work. LOL....

I don't believe in competing or comparing with his other peers. Parents should know when to give the correct amount of stress. But first of all quality time with them must be there. Even though i could meet up friends on Sunday, watch movies, nice dinner, etc, but i chose not to. Perhaps once a blue Moon, but children still comes first. Unless I'm meeting a client or it's for work purpose then it's a different story. Ever since i got LiL Ps, private time and own space thingy don't came across my mind. To me, their companions had became my leisure time.

Zachary Birthday Party ROCKS!!

Very successful birthday party held at The Trevose! Today we celebrated Zachary's one year old birthday:) I didn't help much.... just helped to pack the goodies bag and ice box drinks... Then assisted in printing out the instant photos for the guests. Initially i wanted to buy Zac's birthday cake, but siyong's sister wanted to self baked a cake for Zac:) She was great.... fantastic! I'm so impressed.... A 3kg cake with additional cupcakes too! Taste good and yummy!

We were the first few guest to reach. Siyong was there busy with deco and the set up. He made much effort in today's event! The LiL Ps enjoyed the evening so much, especially Princeton boy. Busy eating and eating.... after that busy playing and running. Fortunately there were groups of children entertaining him. I was busy taking photos and printing distributing photos.

The buffet was really good. 12 varieties of food! Sister ordered extras for the guests, and it was always good to order more rather than less. Because we can never assume one person only take one share. People like Zhenyu, took at least 4 times! Haha... So when there are left overs at the end of the buffet, please don't say TOO MUCH, it should be JUST RIGHT. If there are zero food left, it actually means the food is NOT ENOUGH.

Seriously...People don't remember how nice the cake was.... but rather people remembered if the buffet food was nice and good. So let's spend more time in searching for good buffet and a good headcounts. 

I wish Zachary a blessed birthday, good health and good boy, eat and sleep well everyday:) Ah yee and LiL Ps love you lots! HUgz and Kisses darling bb!

HAPPY Birthday my darling hubby!

Time really flies... we are celebrating Singapore 47th birthday! Every year today, we would also celebrate Zhenyu's birthday. (His actual date is 10th August) Last year we had a gathering at Uncle William house! Today, sis asked us to go over her place in the afternoon then join her inlaws for dinner. Siyong bought ice cream cake from Swensens especially for hubby! Thanks Jie fu:)

Sis and sy treated us a wonderful meal this evening... I didn't eat much because gastric was not feeling well. Bloated.. Zhenyu as usual wiped up everything!! We had a great day today and so do the kids. Tian and xin playing enjoyed so much today, despite they had missed the afternoon nap. Zachary can walk! This clever boy is able to identify several objects by using eye contact. I guessed he is a fast learner though boys usually are slower in their motor skills, but Zachary proven otherwise. Flipped before 3.5months and sit on his own at 5months plus. Start crawling at 6months then 4legged crawl on the 7 month. Stand with support at 8month old, and walk with support at 9months old. Stong legs ya?? This saturday will be holding his grand one year old birthday party!!

A pity hubby could not take leave tomorrow... so I'll meet him for dinner while Princeton attend his Chinese enrichment at Tien Xia.

 Thank you so much dear LEE Family for this joyful occassion today. We appreciated alot and it's really heart warming to watch NDP together! Live firework!

Birthday dinner treat from Uncle William

We had a great meal @ Shin Yeh 欣葉 (Liang Court) yesterday evening!! Thanks to Uncle William and Aunt Sharon! We got the chance to try out this authentic Taiwanese Cuisine. Indeed fantastic ^^

The interior of Shin Yeh was spacious and classy. There are many private rooms suitable for large groups or family gatherings. There is a nice view of the Clarke Quay river towards the end of the restaurant. And we are so lucky to have a table with such a view! Heehee....


Princeton love the beef , the chicken, the fish and the deep fried crispy oysters! He drank one big glass of the special sour plum drink. Happy to see he is more open to different varieties of food. Paris on the other hand only enjoyed the soup....Ate the sweet potato porridge, and tried the fish. Slowly and hopefully her choices can expand... We ended the meal with baked Yam pastries and Muah Chee:) 

We went to the Japanese Supermarket, and Uncle William bought so many biscuits for the LiL Ps! Both of them love biscuits alot... they got no interest in chocolates and sweets. Only chips and biscuits. HAha.... Thanks Lao Chek!! The fruits at this super mart was SO expensive! Saw four peaches selling at $129! Huh??? Meant for The Monkey God ah? Who would want to buy? hmm...


Forgot to take a group picture... haiz... thought after dessert we could ask the waitress to help us snap a photo. Thanks Uncle William for this marvellous dinner, hope to meet up soon for card games and mahjong games!

Friday Happy own time day!!

Yesterday, i went movie The amazing Spiderman with a good friend at Plaza Sing!! We had lunch together, a full one... so no space for popcorn. It was an unforgettable movie!! The woman next to me was talking non stop throughout the show!!! Super irritating. The touching scene, she was crying out loudly, and sobbing non stop. The exciting scenes, she was saying OMG x10 OH DEAR x100 Oh Please x1000 (Feel like slapping her)
Luckily i was in a good mood, if not i would have ask her to keep quiet. Indeed unforgettable! I watched Dark Knight Rises last week, it was great! But only applicable for those who watched part 1&2, because it's linked. Zhenyu fetched Princeton at 5plus, and i reached home at 6. Had a quick bath and the LiL Ps had their dinner then we set off to Jurong Point for Tian's lesson at Tien Xia.


We picked up Jimmy as he is joining us for dinner. Princeton likes Uncle Jimmy alot, held his hands so tight all the way... After tian's lesson, we drove them home and changed to go KTV at The Chevrons. We asked Peter and Peggy along too! Been a long time since we got nights out with friends:)

Well... it's nice to chill out with friends:) But i know when i get home, the LiL Ps are sleeping soundly on the bed and i would still be hugging them to sleep.


Next week I'll be having a primary school outing. They are all very understanding and willing to make arrangement to meet up during weekday morning. Thanks peeps!! Usually evening I'll be busy with the Ps, mostly revision with Princeton, or storytelling with the both of them.


Princeton is able to do spelling in English and Chinese:) Simple words of course ^^ He could do double digits addition and subtraction. He could tell the date month year now, and is learning to tell the time.

Paris could recognise A to Z! She could say it out too. I managed to video it but it's not clear... she's talking very softly. haha...

Glad to see they are learning new things everyday:) I will continue to make this journey a fun and interesting one for them!

Sunday at Yeye nainai house

Saturday hubby was on duty, he came home with breakfast for everyone despite not driving the car... Thanks my chubby man:) He went to five different stalls to dabao, and carrying his heavy bag to take bus home. He wanted me to sleep more instead of waking me up to fetch him.

Once he reached home, the LiL Ps flocked over him and hug him tightly. Tian said daddy why you so long then come back? Happy right? Then he added, me and meimei very hungry! heehee.... We had breakfast together and daddy accompanied them till their nap time. Then all of us went for our nap ZZZZZ

Woke up at 5plus and prepared to go over my pil house for dinner. We went on Friday, but fil wanted us to go over again on Sunday because next week he might be on night shift. We had a great evening, Tian&xin had first round of noodles, then second round porridge. Mil love to cook nice food for them and for us. She brewed tonic soup for me again last week. Thanks mother! Tonight my mum will brew black chicken soup. See... how not to lose weight.... haha

Mil bought new Lego's for them again. Tian loves to build ships and aeroplanes and robots. He is very imaginative and enjoyed Lego stuffs. We left at ten pm, by then we got home and bath the children, it's already 11pm. Recently Tian&xin wanted me to read a storybook first before they sleep.

I felt children pick up fast in electronic stuffs like ipad, PSP, iphone etc. But once they are into it, they would have no interest in reading, writing, and those traditional way of studying. Seeing the new era kiddos indulging in games, i felt disheartened. Parents thought it's ok. Until one day when the child is in Primary school, he or she can't even write proper words. Maybe top in gaming... unless you can be like top five gamers then different story.

I planning to buy ipad lookalike! (no money for Apple) But of course i can control my children. Play only when finished their homework. (Don't fret... very simple h/w, tian needs to practise writing two pages and xin to color one picture) Wanted to buy and download some interesting games for them as well as educational stuffs to learn. Main reason is because iphone got radiation whereas I'll be looking at wifi ipad.

Hmm... got to think of a good way to persuade zhenyu to agree....
